This position will provide the opportunity to work on a state-of the-art highway, the Intercounty Connector (ICC), and related facilities, being delivered as a Design-Build product. Overall responsibility for managing, supervising and directing the daily activities of the ICC Team quality assurance program. Works closely with each contract’s DB Team’s QC manager and staff to coordinate the monitoring and auditing of their program. Solid understanding of the ISO 9000 quality process. Evaluates and tracks the overall quality assurance data obtained from assessments. Uses this data to determine the overall performance of the contractor’s QC program and addresses any issues with them. Minimum 10 to 15 years of well rounded experience in developing, preparing and/or implementing quality control – quality assurance programs, preferably in both design and construction settings. Responsibilities include; • promoting quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the ICC Design Build program • ensuring QA compliance objectives and targets are achieved; • ensuring Design-Build QA processes (quality methods are applied) and, specifications are being met; • ensuring compliance with national and international standards and legislation; • considering the application of environmental and health/safety standards; • ensuring Design-Build quality procedures are adequate • setting up and maintaining controls and documentation; • identifying relevant quality-related training needs; • collating and analyzing performance data and charts against defined parameters; • ensuring tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated; • supervising technical staff in carrying out tests and checks; • writing technical and management system reports; • bringing together staff of different disciplines and driving the group to plan, formulate and agree to comprehensive quality policy and procedure; • persuading reluctant staff to change their way of working to incorporate quality methods; • liaising with SHA auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with SHA specifications; • preparing clear explanatory documents; • monitoring performance through gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
