Susquehanna River Raw Water Intake and Pumping Station
York, Pennsylvania
To address a growing population and ongoing drought conditions, the York Water Company elected to construct a new raw water supply system which consists of a submerged raw water intake in the Susquehanna River, a 12-mgd raw water pumping station and approximately 15 miles of 36-inch water transmission main. RK&K was obtained to provide engineering services including planning and studies, preparation of design documents, environmental assessments and permitting, topographic and hydrographic surveys, geotechnical and geophysical investigations, property acquisition and bid-phase assistance.
