Supplemental Construction Inspection Services - District 4
Baltimore and Harford Counties, Maryland

Photo01RK&K is providing Maryland State Highway Administration’s District 4, with much needed qualified construction inspection personnel to supplement the SHA’s own forces. Most projects involve highway and bridge work. Other assignments include resurfacing, utility projects, geometric improvements, streetscape projects and other projects. Many projects involve the interstate highways such as the Baltimore Beltway, I-695; Jones Falls Expressway, I-83; I-95; and I-70 to the west.

The staff provided by RK&K includes Transportation Engineering Technicians Levels II through IV. The contract also includes project engineering assignments (Level V) on an as needed basis. Well over 90 percent of the inspectors are certified in soils and aggregate, hot mix asphalt (HMA) and Portland cement concrete. In addition, many are trained in material clearance and pavement markings. Some Photo02technicians are assigned as office engineers entering the daily reports and other information into the Maryland Construction Management System (MCMS). RK&K has over 40 inspectors assigned to the district.
