Gas Distribution System
Eastern Maine
RK&K planned and designed over 1.2 million feet of 2-, 4-, 6-, and 8-inch high density polyethylene distribution piping in 12 eastern Maine communities for Bangor Gas Company, LLC. As part of our engineering efforts RK&K performed extensive area research to obtain existing plans, maps, utility drawings and records to plan the distribution system. Aerial strip photography was obtained and digital base maps were generated in AutoCAD and utilized for all permitting and construction plans. In addition to our design services, RK&K supported Bangor Gas in developing construction specifications and testing procedures, permit creation and approval, bid services, construction adminstration and inspection, and final as-built documentation.
