Natural Gas Transmission and
Distribution System
Northwestern North Carolina
RK&K performed the route study, planning, permitting and design of approximately 70-miles of steel transmission pipelines and intermittent co-located polyethylene distribution mains in Northwest North Carolina for Frontier Energy, LLC. The steel transmission system consisted of three pipeline laterals, all in mountainous terrain, with some sections designed along a major highway under re-construction and some areas designed in cross country regions. Along with the transmission system RK&K planned, designed and permitted the natrual gas distribution system for Frontier Energy to serve five counties in Northwest North Carolina.
