RK&K was tasked to determine all possible pipeline routes to supply natural gas to Alleghanny county North Carolina starting at one of two possible tap locations and to evaluate and compare each route and finally recommend the best possible route. RK&K first developed the criteria by which each route would be evaluated so that an accurate comparison and cost estimate could be developed. Once this was complete RK&K gathered all existing maps and aerial photos to layout all possible routes. Once the possible routes were determined an intensive field investigation of each route was performed and each route was evaluated on the predetermined criteria. RK&K was able to effectively determine the difficulties of each route, potential permitting delays and estimate material and construction costs allowing us to recommend the best route to meet our clients needs.
