Environmental Site Assessment

During RK&K's engineering efforts for the Delaware Department of Transporation (DelDOT) on the Wilmington Riverfront Renovations we performed a Preliminary Assessment (PA) to assess the hazardous waste disposal history and identify potential environmental contamination within the Wilmington Riverfront Project area. RK&K then performed a Phase II site investigation which confirmed the presense of contamination by heavy metals, volatile organic compounds, polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) and polychlorinated biphenyles (PCB's). RK&K continued to work 
closely with DelDOT and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) through characterization, remediation, and treatment to maximize soil reuse and minimize costs.
