Analysis of Natural Gas Storage Facility

RK&K provided engineering services for construction of a large volume natural gas storage facility in Western Virginia. Project details included developing applicable facility codes to be incorporated to existing building codes, and preparing material, equipment, installation and testing specifications.

 

Sparta Feasibility Study

RK&K is currently preparing a feasibility study for approximately 35 miles of 6-inch steel cross-country transmission natural gas pipeline to serve Sparta, North Carolina. Project detail includes primary and secondary route proposal, environmental impact study, preparing construction cost estimates and recording research of property and utility information.

 

Northern Loop Study
Greenville, NC

Date Delivered: July 1994

RK&K conducted pipeline route and load analyses to serve 120 MCFH natural gas to a cogeneration plant in Greenville. Project details included load and system analyses, construction cost estimates and horizontal directional drill design for the Tar River crossing.

 

Vint Hill Farms Station - Natural Gas Distribution Engineering Services
Warrenton, VA

RK&K provided a natural gas system design and survey for Vint Hill Farm distribution system. Project details included system analyses using GASWorks and GWAcad, recommending infrastructure improvements, and preparing compliance reports.

 

Operation, Inspection and Maintenance Manual

Date Delivered: February 1994

RK&K provided the Vint Hill Farms gas distribution facility with a 49 CFR, 191 & 192 Compliance Inspection and Operation, Inspection and Maintenance Manual for their natural gas system. Project details included recommended maintenance, preparing system inspection procedures, material specifications, and code compliance.

 

Peak Shaving Feasibility Study
Greenville, NC

Date Delivered: January 1996

RK&K provided feasibility studies for a peak shaving facility in Greenville, North Carolina. Project details included system load analyses, determination of required capacity of peak shaving facility and evaluation of applicability of Propane-air and/or Liquefied Natural Gas facilities.

 

Hampton Roads Pipeline Crossing
Norfolk, VA

Date Delivered: July 1992

RK&K was responsible for the preliminary geotechnical study of a 4.7 mile subaqueous high pressure natural gas main. Project details included geological investigation of river bottom and substrata, selection of construction technique for Hampton Roads Harbor crossing, and regulator design.
